On Saturday (August 3), the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement has declared a ‘One Point Demand’ for the government's resignation. Nahid Islam, one of the movement's key coordinators, made the announcement from the Central Shaheed Minar.

Addressing the gathered students and citizens, Nahid stated that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her cabinet must resign.

He also announced that a nationwide non-cooperation movement would commence on Sunday (August 4).
